   TEETH CLEANING AND POLISHING

The best way of ensuring a radiant smile is to maintain your dental health. Oral hygiene will be assessed and advised as necessary by your dentist. A professional cleaning or scaling and prophylaxis done in a dental practice before your wedding can help remove stains and tartar buildup that might detract from your smile. A thorough and gentle cleaning also keeps gums healthy and brings a freshness to the mouth.

   TEETH WHITENING

People always want a brighter smile, so teeth whitening is a very popular treatment before weddings. There are a number of safe, simple and cost effective whitening options that can produce quite dramatic results.

Your dentist will help you to select the best teeth whitening option whether it’s in-clinic chairside whitening or take-home whitening kits. In clinic whitening is often the choice for people who don't like the idea of wearing the trays used in home whitening.

Healthy teeth that have yellowed with age, or are stained from coffee, tea or smoking, usually respond well to whitening. The darker your teeth, the more help they need. Our recommendation is not leave it just before the wedding but start it approximately 3 months before, followed by a top-up treatment about 1 week before the occasion.

   COSMETIC BONDING AND DENTAL CONTOURING

Smile enhancement does not always require a lot of time. Techniques such as reshaping and bonding, with teeth whitening can take place in just a few dental visits and produce very attractive results.

Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken or have spaces between them. With bonding, tooth-colored composite filling materials are applied, or bonded, to the tooth surface to fill small spaces, close gaps and to correct minor developmental defects in the shape and appearance of a tooth . Dental contouring involves gentle smoothing, which subtly reshapes teeth, removes uneven edges and corrects minor crowding.

It is a non-invasive and conservative procedure that is planned during your initial consultation.

   VENEERS

Veneers are another popular choice for brides and grooms that are unhappy with the appearance of their smile Dental veneers (sometimes called dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-coloured materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length correcting size discrepancies and angulations, to give you the smile you’ve always wanted!

Dental veneers can also be made from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth.

   CROWNS

If veneers aren’t appropriate for a patient, crowns maybe required. Porcelain or zirconia crowns can provide results that can last from 10 to 20 years. A crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” placed over a tooth. Crowns can restore a tooth's shape, size and strength while also improving its appearance.

Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth. These are also restored with crowns, the visible portion that lies at and above the gum line. Crowns typically require more time to complete than veneers, so it is important to see your dentist as soon as possible to ensure you have enough time to plan and complete your treatment before your special day.
